THE MOST BEAUTIFUL dream OF YOUR LIFE COMES true
An enchanting masseria of the eighteenth century owned by a Bonapartist general, a park that will fascinate you with the colours and scents of the alta Murgia, the picturesque area with a waterfall and a garden pond, the excellence of menus renowned in the whole Puglia, an impeccable service: these are the ingredients thanks to which Villa Menelao is the most appreciated facility of the area, with reservations made up to three years before the event and more than 4000 weddings celebrated since 1996 (we never host more than one event a day). Since your very first visit here, I will be pleased to be by your side and give you my suggestions to organize your reception in every detail, so as to make it unforgettable for you and your guests: the halls to use, the best menu based on the season, the most elegant table linens, flower decorations. If you wish the most beautiful dream of your life to come true, come to see me, I look forward to seeing you.Michele Boccardi
ONE OF THE MOST prestigious RECEPTION HALLS IN Puglia
The history of Villa Menelao started in the eighteenth century when the south of Italy was under the Bourbon domination of the Kingdom of Naples. In 1770, in the lush countryside of Turi, the works for the construction of the fortified masseria started; then, between 1810 and 1840, it was bought by the Bonapartist general Domenico Menelao, together with the whole surrounding park. The general Menelao became a prominent figure of the Carboneria sect “La Nuova Sparta” (a secret society) of the early Italian Risorgimento, whose clandestine meetings were held in this masseria. Menelao later became the protagonist of the development of Turi, as he became the major of the village in 1831. Villa Menelao has been owned by the Boccardi family since 1900, who made it a hardworking farm for more than 70 years. In 1996, thanks to accurate renovation works, the villa was brought back to its splendour, thus becoming one of the most prestigious reception halls in Puglia.
